Este-tiwilh/Sigurd Creek Conservancy

The Ministry of Environment (BC Parks) invited public comment on the draft Esté-tiwilh/Sigurd Creek Conservancy Management Plan (attached below). The Esté-tiwilh/Sigurd Creek Conservancy is approximately 1,112 hectares in size and is adjacent to the northern boundary of Tantalus Provincial Park, near Squamish. The management vision for the conservancy is to provide a sanctuary for social, ceremonial and cultural use by the Squamish Nation, as well as for low impact backcountry recreational use and enjoyment of the public. Sigurd Creek Trail and access routes to Tantalus Provincial Park lie within the conservancy.

The FMCBC supports the overall direction of the draft management plan and has sent the attached letter with comments on trails, recreation values and management strategies to BC Parks.
